At times, your personal life may feel like it is spinning out of control. We provide short term counselling to individuals, couples, families and children and occasionally are able to provide group counselling on a variety of topics. We offer a supportive, comfortable, confidential and safe place at our resource centre. Arrangements can be made for childcare during appointments. All counselling is free.
We’d like to hear from you. We invite you to complete our anonymous Mental Health Community Needs survey. The survey will summarize how we can work together towards fulfilling community wellness through group counselling.
Covid-19 Counselling Precautions
Our Kids Count and Catholic Family Development Centre Thunder Bay continue to work together to ensure those who need counselling can receive it. Counselling is available via telephone or virtually. Please note, due to covid measures, walk-in counselling is post-poned until further notice.
If you have a child or children ages 0 – 6 years, please take some time to complete the Survey: Use of Services for 0-6 Children by Families During the COVID-19 Pandemic 2020. This survey is created by Infant Mental Health Promotion (IMHP) at the Hospital for Sick Children, in collaboration with the Ontario Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health (The Centre), Kids Brain Health Network (KBHN) and Children First would like to hear parents’ thoughts on how child and youth mental health system can improve the quality of services for children under 6 throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Families are invited to complete the survey below, which focuses on understanding:
- What information or services you accessed during the COVID-19 pandemic, in order to support your youngest child’s well-being; and
- How we could help to improve the quality of this information and services as we continue to move through the pandemic (and perhaps a second wave).
