Children under 6 years in child care will not need to wear masks.
The Emergency Food Cupboard is open Fridays from 1 pm – 4 pm. Families may access once per month and will be asked to follow COVID-19 precautions. New grocery bags will be provided.
Due to COVID-19 precautions, we’re currently not accepting personal donations of clothing, toys, crafts, or other household items. If you’d like to make a monetary donation to help with our food security programs during COVID, please click here to donate or call 807-623-0292 ext. 240. Thank you.

Our Kids Count and Catholic Family Development Centre Thunder Bay continue to work together to ensure those who need counselling can receive it. Information about counselling can be found on our Facebook page and our website (from the menu select Programs, Family Counselling).
Our Kids Count (OKC) is a community development organization which builds stronger families and inclusive communities by enhancing people’s lives through personal growth and development. Our core funding is aimed at fostering the health and development of children ages 6 and under. Through other funding sources and community partnerships, OKC provides support to individuals of all ages – men, women, youth (6-12), teens and families with children. OKC involves participants in all aspects of program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
In addition, we now provide the Big Brothers Big Sisters program which delivers a one to one mentoring program which ensures that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential – as an individual and as a citizen – and that by doing so they will not only do well, they will do good. in addition, we will offer two programs “Go Girls” and “Game On”, as well as the in school mentoring program. These would all provide new and diverse opportunities to develop the necessary skills to be a great leader.
