Do Something for Thunder Bay Families — Your Way

Some of the most meaningful support Our Kids Count receives comes from community members who just decided to do something. A third-party fundraiser is any event or campaign you organize independently, with the proceeds going to OKC programs.

You don't need a big budget or a fundraising background. You need an idea, some people who care, and a little enthusiasm. We'll handle the rest.

What Other People Have Done

Not sure where to start? Here are real examples of how Thunder Bay community members have raised money for Our Kids Count:

  • Birthday fundraiser - asking friends and family to donate instead of buying gifts
  • Workplace campaign - rallying colleagues to give over a set period of time
  • Bake sale or garage sale - simple, community-friendly, and surprisingly effective
  • Sports challenge - a bike ride, a walkathon, or any activity with pledges attached
  • Community dinner or event - a potluck, trivia night, or neighbourhood gathering
  • Social media campaign - using your own platform to share OKC's story and drive donations
How We'll Support You

When you host a fundraiser for Our Kids Count, you're not on your own. We can:

  • Provide a charitable registration letter for your fundraiser
  • Share your event on our social media channels
  • Provide OKC materials, signage, or talking points for your event
  • Connect you with the right staff contact for any questions along the way
A Few Guidelines

Third-party fundraisers are independently organized and funded. The organizer is responsible for event costs. All funds are remitted to Our Kids Count after the event. Please connect with us before you start promoting so we can provide a letter of authorization and make sure everything runs smoothly.
