Ordinary people make extraordinary differences through their estates every year. If Our Kids Count has meant something to you, or if you believe in what we do for Thunder Bay families, a planned gift is one of the most powerful ways to express that.

What a Legacy Gift Does

Annual donations and fundraising events keep our programs running today. Legacy gifts are what allow us to plan for the future — to invest in our facilities, expand our programs, and ensure we're still here for Thunder Bay families decades from now.

100% of every legacy gift stays in this community, supporting the children, youth, and families who rely on Our Kids Count.

Ways to Leave a Legacy

Bequest through your will

Direct a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the residual balance to Our Kids Count. Bequests can be general or directed to a specific program area.

Life insurance

Name Our Kids Count as the beneficiary and/or owner of a paid-up, existing, or new life insurance policy. This can allow you to make a much larger gift than might otherwise be possible.

RRSP or RRIF designation

Designate Our Kids Count as the direct beneficiary of your registered retirement savings or retirement income funds. A simple form change with your financial institution is all it takes.

Other planned options

Options include charitable remainder trusts and publicly traded securities. Speak with your financial or legal advisor about what makes the most sense for your situation.

How to Get Started

Legacy giving is a personal decision, and we encourage you to have the conversation with your family and involve your estate lawyer or financial planner. We are happy to speak with you and your advisors — confidentially and without obligation — about what a gift to Our Kids Count might look like.
